First day of school at my new university and I don't really have much to say. I guess that isn't surprising I only had my Botany lab today. The professor is the father of two kids I went to middle school with and has an awesome sense of humor. Biology professors with a sense of humor are the best.
I also sit next to a guy that when I look at him out of the corner of my eye I mistake for someone else, even though I know full well that person isn't there, that they won't ever be there. I guess there is a bittersweet comfort to that reminder. I'm hoping that view of him doesn't skewer my view or prevent me from getting to know him for who he is, not who he reminds me of or who I wish he was.
There was a different feel of the campus, until I actually got into the classroom and my classmates started filing in. Then, I realized that there actually wasn't much of a difference. I did feel old, until a familiar face from my Physics course a year or so ago walked in.
Tomorrow I have the Botany lecture, Molecular Biology lecture and lab, and Theology. I'm really not looking forward to Theology. It looks like it is entirely about Christianity, and honestly, that doesn't interest me in the slightest. I'd go back to church if I had an interest in learning any more about Christianity. But alas, it is required at my university and the Comparative Religions course I took doesn't transfer over as that.
It is going to be a long day tomorrow, non-stop class from 8AM to 5PM. I didn't even go to class that long in high school, the things I do to make sure I can still work enough hours at work. I'm tired already with only that 3 hour lab I had today.

Early morning classes suck, but at least you'll get parking. At the colleges I've been to, if you get there in the afternoon you usually don't get a parking place.

Thanks!

Date: 2011-08-24 02:08 am (UTC)From:Oh yeah, and parking on this campus is awful. People actually have to park on the side streets in front of people's houses because there is no parking at certain times. So far, I've been lucky. I go at 8AM two days a week and then at 2pm, and there was some openings at 2, surprisingly.
