Two posts in one day, look at me! It has been a while since I felt like doing that. I feel infinitely better now after my yoga session. I was completely drained after work today and ready to crawl into a bed, or, you know, the floor as soon as I stepped in the door. I was tempted, but no, I stayed awake wondering why in the world I could be so tired. I got my 8 hours of sleep, ate enough food, and had coffee plus I had been full of energy the past two days. There was one difference.

Coffee.

The past two days I hadn't had any coffee at all and I felt great. Today, my coworker offers me free coffee, and who passes up free stuff? I mean, really. Especially when it is something as awesome as coffee. But the first day I have coffee in a few days, I come home and feel absolutely horrid and ready to punch some faces. It was probably that I hadn't had any in a few days after pretty much inhaling too much on a daily basis that caused how bad I felt. The girls that work at Gloria Jean's in the mall actually know me by name. I'm there getting coffee that often. I love coffee, but after how completely terrible I felt today, I'm going to give coffee up. Since I've been doing yoga on a daily basis, I haven't needed the energy. Yoga has to be one of the best energy boosters and it feels amazing. I'm sure there will still be the day once every so often that I go without any sleep that I'll need something to keep me awake and will revoke that no coffee policy temporarily, but those days are rare and I'll feel terrible no matter what I do.

I'll take your coffee XD

I'm glad yoga is a good boost for you :)

I can't give up coffee. It makes me feel so much better. When I got sick and had to give up coffee, I had the most horrendous headache for two days. Sign of a full blown caffeine addict ><"

Well, aren't you a prolific writer!

COFFEE.

That's actually why I avoid drinking it myself, I know I'd get hooked and eventually just feel terrible over ingesting so much acid and caffeine, and then have to quit and realize how awesome NOT being hooked on things is and...

...Yeah. Physical activity really helps with most of life's problems. For me it's not Yoga so much as Karate (though I've done both), but moving and doing just feels so good, and it makes days so much better.

Instead of coffee, I suggest those coffee energy drinks because they are delicious! And they make terrible days okay for about four to six hours.

I'm surprised coffee had such an effect on you. I wonder if it was the caffeine. I drink a lot of soda and noticed similar results. Though usually the first few days without it are horrible.

I need to get back into yoga! I'm glad you're feeling better.

I am your polar opposite--I want to punch some faces if I haven't had any coffee, and since I quit smoking I pretty much need some sort of self-destructive habit. XD Still, if you can go without it, more power to you!

I really need to cut back on my coffee intake. It's obscene some days. We have a Keurig, so it's so easy to just make cup after cup.

I have wanted to try yoga for so long, but I'm wary of going to a class where everyone knows what they're doing and I'd probably be tripping all over myself with my lack of flexibility. haha. That's awesome that it gives you energy like that, I've heard nothing but great things from people who practice.

You are braver than I am for giving up coffee! I am not at the stage where I think I could do it yet, and I feel terrible if I don't have it. But it also gives me stomach aches sometimes, which is why I want to give it up.

You can have it. ;D

Thanks! As am I. It is pretty amazing how much of a difference even doing just a few minutes of it a day is.

I was suprised that I didn't get a headache from not drinking any, especially with how much of it I was drinking everyday.

It really does. Whenever I'm upset, all I need to do is move and it may not make it go away but I at least feel better. I've started, or well, started attempting to get up in the morning to do a little yoga before work. I feel amazing all day after doing that. The problem is getting myself out of bed to do it.

Two of my coworkers live for those 5-Hour Energy drinks. We have these huge drawers in the lab and they filled any entire one up with empty bottles.

I am as well. I was expecting the opposite -- feeling worse from not drinking it rather than from drinking it.

Thanks!

I'm rather surprised I can do so well without it. It used to be the only thing that would keep me awake.

I was the exact same way when I started doing yoga, so I started at home with a beginner DVD to get familiar with some of the basic poses. It was a little strange at first, but I could feel myself getting stronger and stronger in the poses.

Ha, I didn't think I'd be able to but so far so good. Coffee would give me headaches every once in a while -- mostly if I had drinken way too much of it.

Meh. Getting out of bed is the hardest thing you will ever do, any day. If you can do that, everything else is cake.

well as far as I'm aware, it takes at least 2 weeks to from a habit, addiction to something like caffeine, I'm sure takes about that long to settle in. I'm been drinking coffee since I was like 15, then I started drinking it every day when I started uni...
