I like grocery shopping. Yes, I'm posting about grocery shopping. I really do though. Most of my friends dread that trudge to the grocery store. "NOOOOO, I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow!" is one of the common utterances at work when we've run out of interesting topics. You know we're beyond bored when we start reciting our grocery lists to each other.

When I was younger, my mom would always do all the shopping and would never get any of the food I wanted to eat. It was, of course, all very unhealthy junk food, but I was young, how did I know any better? That may explain why I enjoy grocery shopping so much, that I'm the person who decides what food to buy. The first time I did my own grocery shopping I did buy all of those things she wouldn't -- tons of candy, chips, pop, ice cream, etc etc, out of rebellion and loved every second of eating all of it. That was, until I ended up throwing the majority of it up because I had eaten too much. Lesson learned. My eating habits have definitely improved since then, I'm happy to report.

So, all of this time my transcripts weren't even at the university, despite them having told me they received them. That explains still not having heard from them, but really? I don't know where the transcripts got lost to even complain.

I finally watched The Human Experience today. It was powerful. For those not familiar with it, it is a documentary that follows two brothers as they travel throughout the world and attempt to see the world through other people's eyes. They live a week on the streets of New York, for instance, to experience what life is like for homeless people. It was quite touching at times and really just makes me feel happy being alive. I have such a desire to go to Africa after watching it as well. One day.

I love grocery shopping too. I'm definitely a snob when it comes to grocery stores. I've been spoiled most of my life with having a Wegmans, and now where I live the closest is 30 mins or so away, and our closest stores are tops or save-a-lot. Bleh. Overpriced and bad selection. I seriously used to go to Wegmans and just browse when I was bored. haha.

That's what I do with Target, ha. I go and just look around whenever I'm bored. I don't normally buy food there, but once in a while they have nice stuff on clearance. I wish we had a Trader's Joes nearby though. I hate how much some stores charge for organic food.

I used to go to Target when I was bored too. haha. I completely agree, all we have here are crappy stores and organic anything is WAY overpriced. Wegmans natures market is like heaven to me, or the Co-op I used to live near. Almost makes me want to drive the hour & a half now to get some goodies haha

I'm so lucky to live near a Jewel now. They may not have everything I want as organic, but they have a nice, cheaper selection. I was pretty surprised, as they tend to be on the more expensive side for food.

I freakin love grocery shopping.

I feel like I've heard about this documentary, but I'm not entirely sure. I have a professor who is from Africa, and it's just made me want to go there even more :) I love just sitting and asking her all about it.

It was really good and one I highly recommend. It really sounds like an amazing place.

I didn't care for grocery shopping so much as a kid, though that was mostly due to the fact that my mother is a social butterfly and an otherwise short trip spanned into 2 hours between everyone she ran into. These days I rather like going to the organic section. So many neat things to look at/buy.

Ha, that's how my dad is. Anytime we'd go somewhere, he would find someone to stand around and chat with. When I was little, it would drive me insane.

I do as well. I wish we had an actual organic store nearby, but the nearest one is about an hour away.

I don't really like grocery shopping. It feels kind of like a chore. Plus I can never decide what I want to buy.

It definitely can be. I just like thinking of all the good food I'll get to eat. ;D

I actually enjoy grocery shopping too... which is especially weird since I work at a grocery store. haha.

Universities are horrible when it comes to the administration. I swear they're always losing things/misplacing/screwing up everything and then nobody knows anything about anyone else's job so it's impossible to resolve anything without visiting 50 different offices and people. :(

They really are. This time, I delivered it in person but I'm a little wary because I dropped it off with the assistant instead of the counselor. It should be fine, but you never know and if they lose it this time I might just look for another university. I understand they have a lot of people coming and going, but still.

I like grocery shopping too - it might have something to do with the fact that I like to plan thing (and most often never do them).
And going abroad it's always so fun to look at the "strange" foods they have.

I'm always afraid to taste foods, ha. I love looking at them, but getting me to actually try them is next to impossible. ;D
