So here I was, all ready for my first actual Sunday off (Easter doesn't count!) in over a year -- a day full of doing nothing but sitting in front of my computer and/or laying in my bed playing video games. I turn my PS3 on, munching on my grapes, and feeling pretty good because I had just given my dad the best Father's day card ever. I stare at the screen realizing I don't want play it. So, I move to the computer and start Steam up to play some Fallout, same thing. I did this little cock my head to the side thing as it registered, "No....video games?"

I didn't want to play any video games.

This is a big deal! A day where I could lounge around all day and pretend the craziness that can be the world doesn't exist outside my window and I don't even do that! So, I did what any normal person does when they don't know what to do -- I went to Wal-Mart. Then I did some other stuff. As soon as I get to work tomorrow all I'm going to want to do is go home and play video games. I love the way that works.

I have this feeling tomorrow is going to be one of those days at work. I don't know what it is, but I'm actually dreading it. I never actually want to go to work, but I can't say that I dread it either.

Hahaha, that sounds a lot like my boyfriend -- he often wants to do the exact opposite of whatever he's doing at the moment. Or if he's eating sweets, he'll want chips. If he's eating chicken, he'll want to eat fish. If I'm being quiet, he wants me to talk more. If I talk more, he wants me to be quiet. XD

There's a good word for it in Japanese, 天邪鬼 (amanojaku). Amanojaku is some weirdo demon in the Japanese folk-lore who "is thought to be able to provoke a person's darkest desires and thus instigate him into perpetrating wicked deeds", but in everyday language it just means a contrarian or someone who always wants the opposite of what is available. XD Even my boyfriend calls himself amanojaku often, haha.

Ha, that is exactly what I do, especially the eating sweets and wanting chips part. I can't tell you how many times that has happened, lol.

I will have to remember that. I absolutely love hearing about new words in another language, especially one as fascinating as Japanese, so thank you! :D

Another great time to go to Wal-Mart, judging by my neck of the woods, is when it's a beautiful day, not too hot, and the sun is shining. It never failed--when I worked there, we would get fucking deluged. It was kind of like their collective unconscious went HORR BLORR, LET'S ALL GO TO WAMMART.

LOL. That sounds like my job, except it is at completely weird and different time. It will be completely dead for about an hour and then all of a sudden everyone and their grandma's aunt walk in the door demanding an eye exam. The joys of retail, lol.

Gotta love how that works, lol. At least today I had another day off and actually spent the majority of it playing games.

Icon love. <3
