Way to go, New York.

All of these pictures of people celebrating after the news that gay marriage was legalized in New York are quite moving. Perfect timing on the festival going on downtown here too -- as soon as I heard the news the fireworks had just started.

One step closer to equality. Here is hoping more states will follow.

It's about time! I always thought gay marriage was legal in NY because of Friends, but when I started studying Philosophy & Ethics in highschool, I found out it wasn't and was quite shocked.

It's not equality when you need a special term for homosexual varients of things. It's either Marriage or it's not.

I don't disagree, hence why I said the one step closer. I do hope that there will come day where marriage is just marriage, where anyone can marry whom ever they choose and that a person's sexual orientation isn't even brought up.

So happy about New York. I saw something on Tumblr a few weeks ago that showed how more states allow people to marry their first cousins than allow two people of the same sex to get married. It's depressing. I hope more states hop on board.
