I want to travel. And for the first time, I can actually see myself doing it. It won't be for a while, but I'm starting to plan in advance.

I'm looking for destination suggestions that anyone might have. Seeing as this is my first solo trip anywhere, I'm really looking at places in Europe, or anywhere language barriers won't prove difficult, really. Australia, even amazing places here in North America. I've already been to Canada, but I definitely could see myself going back there as well. There are just so many places that I don't even know where to begin. I doubt this will be my only trip in my life, as I do know that I want to go to India one day and Egypt, but I also think I need some experience traveling on my own before I go to certain places.

Come to Australia, specifically Melbourne!! and I'll take you to see the sites and go shopping :)
also, come in Summer. A lot nicer and you can go to the beach.

It is definitely at the top of my list. :D I used to dream about going to Australia when I was younger. One of my dreams was to visit Steve Irwin's zoo, haha. He was my idol.

That would be so much fun!

Well, out of the places I've been in Australia, Queensland is GREAT for the beach, and that's where Steve Irwin's zoo is, I think...I haven't been.
Sydney is full of tourists and pretty boring, you get through everything in like two days, but the zoo there (Taronga Zoo) is really cool.
Melbourne is the best (no bias, of course :P). It has great shopping, awesome touristy things to do. Nightlife isn't great though, the best nights to go out are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, otherwise the city is pretty dead and a little bit scary.
Don't go to Adelaide, it's a hole and hella boring.
Uluru is definitely most worth seeing. The sunset there is gorgeous, but I don't recommend travelling through central Australia on your own.
I haven't been to Western Australia, but my mother tells me it's mostly mining stuff, my friends tell me it's okay to visit but only if you have family there.

In conclusion, come to Melbourne. Melbourne is awesome, plus you'll have a tour guide! ^^ I can show you all the cheap places to shop and eat.

I'll definitely come to Melbourne when I'm able to get to Australia. :D I don't mind there not being much nightlife at all. I'm really not much of a night life person. One of my good friends has family somewhere in Australia as well. I'm not exactly sure where, but I plan on traveling to a few different places while there so so far Melbourne and Queensland are a definite. Sydney most likely as well, just do I can say I've been. ;D

Thank you so much! This has been so helpful and I will definitely keep all of this in mind when I'm planning my trip. <33

well, even with regards to plays and just general shows you can catch at night, the best time to go is the weekend. I really don't recommend being in the CBD in Melbourne after 10PM on your own Sunday to Wednesday. It's dead scary.

If you go to Queensland be sure to check the weather. Beach + cold = crap holiday. Melbourne is cold and raining all the time, so it's all the same :P
Sydney is definitely one of those places you just have to go to. Just don't make it more than a few days.

I hope you decide to come to Australia. It's so much fun here :)

Most definitely! :D It is one of the places I have wanted to go since I was little, so it will be one of the first places, if not the first, out of the USA that I visit.

Come to Khabarovsk, Russia, you'll see extreme way of life :D Especially if you come in winter :))))

One day I do hope to. I like the cold, but I hear Russia is beyond cold so I don't know how well I'd fare in the winter, lol.
