I want to travel. And for the first time, I can actually see myself doing it. It won't be for a while, but I'm starting to plan in advance.
I'm looking for destination suggestions that anyone might have. Seeing as this is my first solo trip anywhere, I'm really looking at places in Europe, or anywhere language barriers won't prove difficult, really. Australia, even amazing places here in North America. I've already been to Canada, but I definitely could see myself going back there as well. There are just so many places that I don't even know where to begin. I doubt this will be my only trip in my life, as I do know that I want to go to India one day and Egypt, but I also think I need some experience traveling on my own before I go to certain places.

Date: 2011-07-25 05:14 am (UTC)From:Sydney is full of tourists and pretty boring, you get through everything in like two days, but the zoo there (Taronga Zoo) is really cool.
Melbourne is the best (no bias, of course :P). It has great shopping, awesome touristy things to do. Nightlife isn't great though, the best nights to go out are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, otherwise the city is pretty dead and a little bit scary.
Don't go to Adelaide, it's a hole and hella boring.
Uluru is definitely most worth seeing. The sunset there is gorgeous, but I don't recommend travelling through central Australia on your own.
I haven't been to Western Australia, but my mother tells me it's mostly mining stuff, my friends tell me it's okay to visit but only if you have family there.
In conclusion, come to Melbourne. Melbourne is awesome, plus you'll have a tour guide! ^^ I can show you all the cheap places to shop and eat.

Date: 2011-07-27 08:30 am (UTC)From:If you go to Queensland be sure to check the weather. Beach + cold = crap holiday. Melbourne is cold and raining all the time, so it's all the same :P
Sydney is definitely one of those places you just have to go to. Just don't make it more than a few days.
I hope you decide to come to Australia. It's so much fun here :)
