I did the unthinkable today. I bought a planner.
This is a huge feat for me. No, really. I'm not an organized person at all. I live in this state of organized chaos, which essentially means I am incredibly messy but know where everything is. Or at least have an idea where something is. My brain itself works that way too, with thoughts in all different places.
I actually went to my community college to see if I could bum a planner off of them because they used to give them out free. Not anymore, what is that!
I really do miss that campus. Whenever I had some down-time, I could go out on the bike trail or one of the nature trails and just unwind. Not many people knew there was another lake back behind the school. It was my own little secret. Plus, the local airport is next to that, so I could watch the black hawk training or the planes landing/taking off. I grew up at that airport. My campus now is right in the middle of town, so it is surrounded by depressing roads.
Back to the planner, I bought it mostly to ease that worry when I'm sitting here, playing video games. I feel as if I should be doing homework, but I have tons of time. Overloading myself on school work this early isn't exactly the best idea. So, there it is to remind me that yes, I am fine and no, I'm not completely procrastinating. Completely.
I have all these scratches all over my arm from yesterday. There was a field trip for my Botany class yesterday where we went to this prairie restoration site to plant plants.
I got eaten by grass. That's actually where the scratches are from. And I took a picture of a spider. I hate spiders, but this one was awesome looking. I was caught between the desire to scream/run away and to take a picture, so I took a picture, because psh. Spiders don't scare me. (They actually do unless they're tarantulas, which are super cute.)
The coolest thing about the prairie is that it used to be an arsenal for the Army, back in World War II or something. The buildings are all still standing, just abandoned. As we were driving by, you could actually see in the buildings and I really wanted to go in and explore, but I don't even know if that's allowed there. I may go back on my own and find out. Just hopefully this time the grass decides to eat someone else. There were these little military hobbit hole buildings that were pretty cool looking, plus an actual crane factory in the background.
