When I first started my job, I went to buy a pair of work shoes. Well, technically my mom did because I was, and still am, awful at buying shoes. I hate shoes. Really. Socks, shoes, the whole deal. I would always walk around barefoot if I could, but people kick you out of places if you do that. She bought me these shoes as a gift for being awesome and getting a job and I love them, and that is something coming from someone who hates shoes. I had to retire them today though.
I was sitting the lab at work, about to clock out when I showed my manager what happened. I have worn them so much the bottom has started to wear off, all the way through the shoe. So, I leaned back on the stool I was sitting on and held my foot up, showing him the bottom. "You see that white? That's my sock." If everyone in the lab didn't think that was the funniest thing ever.
Two years for one pair of shoes, I don't think that's bad. I went and bought the exact same pair today, haha.
Back to the meme I have been neglecting to do.
7 wants. I think this is harder than any of the others, since I don't really ever express any wants beyond the surface ones, like sleep or food. I talk about those a lot.
1. A drink. I really want something that isn't beer right now, but I have actually gone through my entire stash. Normally I'd just restock, but I've been lazy and not feeling much like drinking lately. I, of course, want something tonight when I have nothing but beer. German beer, okay, but I'm not the biggest fan of Miller Lite.
2. All the video games I've waiting for to be out. The list for those is long. Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Saints Row 3, Mass Effect 3, AC: R, Star Wars: The Old Republic (SERIOUSLY GUYS, WHERE IS IT. I quit WoW, I need an MMO.), other stuff. It is all coming out in November, so I'm planning on using my vacation hours for that. I'd love to actually go take a vacation, but I'm poor now that I'm going to an "actual" university, as my sister loves to say.
3. To be done with school. Not just a semester, not just a year, completely done. I'm so tired of homework, of papers, of labs, of getting up at the crack of dawn, all of it. I have no interest in it anymore, none whatsoever. Maybe I do need to switch my major to Anthropology, but then I'd have to find another new University and all this science will go to waste. I'm finally getting into the interesting science classes (not you, Botany) and I just don't care anymore.
4. To travel. I think I've talked about that enough already, but I need to go. I can't stay here that much longer. Come on Bolivia trip.
5. The money to pay for school. I hate debt. I hate how much of it I'm in now from just a year of school and I still have one more. And that's only if I don't go to grad school. I hate having to worry about money and how much I'm making, how many hours I have. I didn't before, and I realize that that is part of life but I don't like it. But who really does?
6. The stuff of my dreams to be real. Magic, the Doctor, Neverland, all of that that is make-believe and I wish so much that it wasn't. I want a Tardis, or to know that one actually exists out there. I miss the magic of when I was a kid, and Santa was still real in my mind. I want to go back to believing anything is possible.
